  • I've been fortunate to have Amie as my therapist for the last year or so.

I did not have much therapy experience before Amie, but what really clicked for me with her was a conversational approach that she took. Therapy felt more like I was talking to an old friend and catching her up on things in my life as opposed to a stranger. For whatever reason I was able to share things with her easily early on. She told me a few things about herself and that made it easy for me to connect with her as a person and parent.

Additionally, she was a hub for numerous resources that were useful for me and my family. When discussing challenges or issues with me she would point out books, podcasts, websites, courses and even opportunities in my community that I could use as resources. I liked the fact that she provided a large amount of potential resources and from there I was able to pick something that was applicable to me. For example, she suggested a podcast that I started listening to on a regular basis which really helped me put things in perspective. The podcast worked because I was spending a lot of time driving for work at the time.

Amie would also provide practical solutions for how I can react to certain challenges that I was facing in my daily life. Most of the solutions were a reworking of how I approach a problem. These solutions really seemed to work well for me by allowing me to slow down and think things out before reacting or taking action.

Overall, I have been more than pleased with having Amie as my therapist and I would recommend her to anyone else that may need either couples therapy or one-on-one sessions. I really felt that she came to each session with my best interest in mind and she remembered what was discussed in prior sessions which made me feel very prioritized. She worked great for me!
